The Chalwyn SVX hazardous area, flameproof series of butterfly air intake shutoff valves are ATEX approved for Zone 1, Gas Group IIB, T4 (135°C) or Zone 21 hazardous area applications. The SVX flameproof energize to open valve is designed with a œfail-safe actuation. When power is applied to the solenoid, the valve opens and is held open as long as power is supplied. When power is cut off for any reason, such as the detection of an engine over speed condition or other unsafe engine operating conditions, the valve will close. The Chalwyn PVX pneumatic spring return butterfly valve uses a spring return rotary actuator. It is available in two basic versions: Air pressure to open / spring return close on loss of air pressure (failsafe) Air pressure to close / spring return open on loss of air pressure Both versions are designed to work with direct pressure operation in either automatic or manual systems.
