The Clorius ER 2000 electronic controller is used for constant temperature control. It is suitable for all heating and cooling control systems. The controller is primarily intended for marine installations and other industrial applications – such as cooling water and lubricating oil installations, flow temperature control etc. Design The ER 2000 controller is designed for panel mounting. For an easy start-up, it has optimization for the automatic determination of favourable control parameters. The optimization starts when changing the set point or when switching over from manual mode to automatic control. The optimization can be disregarded. For easy operation, it has three keys – two for scrolling or changing values and an enter key. Two digital displays show the process variable and the setpoint. 3 LEDs indicate actuator opens, actuator closes and alarm. The controller can be switched from auto mode to manual mode. In manual mode, the actuator can be opened, closed or stopped in a certain position. Three different alarm settings are possible: Alarm at a deviation from the setpoint SP Alarm at a fixed limit value Alarm at leaving a band around the setpoint SP It can operate either as a three-position or as a two-position controller or analogue (4-20 mA) controller and has an adjustable proportional band, integral action time and derivative action time. Function The temperature input comes via a Pt 100 sensor with a single sensing element. The measured value of the controlled variable is compared with the setpoint value and adjusted via a PI or a PID control structure. The ER 2000 can act as either a heating controller, the actuator closes at rising temperature, or as a cooling controller, the actuator opens at rising temperature. The ER 2000 permits direct reading of the actual temperature value (PV), and it is secured from failure in the measuring circuit, i.e. the controller can be set to give either a closing, an opening, or remain in current position command in case of sensor short circuit or sensor break. The error message Err appears in the LED display PV.

The SIEMENS SIPART PS2 is a widely used positioner for linear and part-turn actuators in an extremely diverse range of process industries. The proven all-round talent provides comprehensive functions “ including intelligent diagnostics “ and can optionally communicate using HART 7, PROFIBUS PA 3.02 or Foundation Fieldbus ITK 6.0. A product that has been tried and tested so many times is always the right choice. The Siemens SIPART PS2 valve positioner is optionally available with Makrolon, aluminium, stainless or flameproof steel enclosure. The positioner is well-equipped for all ambient conditions. Available as standard with IP66 or NEMA 4x protection, it defies even challenging application environments. In dialogue with host systems, the vale positioner demonstrates its communicative side. It can be integrated into the most diverse communication landscapes using the PROFIBUS PA, Foundation Fieldbus or HART protocols. Furthermore, SIMATIC PDM can be applied with HART and PROFIBUS PA to clearly display and document saved trend values, histograms, and commissioning and operating data. The SIPART PS2 is equipped as standard with comprehensive diagnostics functions. To provide a warning of costly failures during operation, the positioner permanently checks the actuator and valve. The SIPART PS2 valve positionercommunicates ongoing events in real-time following NE107. Additionally, the SIPART PS2 provides diagnostics functions such as the œValve Performance Test (VPT). Using this test, the state of a valve can be assessed during a planned plant standstill. The diagnostics package of our positioner is rounded off by the œFull Stroke Test (FST), Step Response Test (SRT), and œMultistep Response Test (MSRT). The diagnostics cockpit allows users to obtain a clear introduction and quickly assess the state of a valve. With a regular œPartial Stroke Test (PST), the SIPART PS2 ensures that ESD (Emergency Shut Down) valves and other open/close valves remain free to move in emergencies. The positioner can also test the attached solenoid valve. The partial stroke test can be used for control valves to recognize maintenance requirements at an early stage during the ongoing process. Fail in place, and our multi-talent also provides fail-safe functions. The fail in place function causes the valve to remain in the last position should the power supply fail. Alternatively, the fail-safe function makes sure that the valve moves to the safety position. This function is even suitable for use in SIL2 measuring circuits. Siemens all-rounder can do even more: together with the SIPART PS2 booster; it allows fast control of large actuators with a Cv value of 2.0. Due to direct mounting on the positioner, the manual piping requirements are reduced to a minimum. The Clorius Safety Set SM6 is developed for all Clorius valves up to 150mm but may be used for other valve brands of corresponding size and function. It is consequently well suited for the modernisation of existing systems. The Clorius Safety Set SM6 is used for heating, cooling, ventilation and industrial systems, no matter whether the medium is water, steam or oil. Design The Clorius Safety Set SM6 consists of a valve motor, a control box and a dual thermostat. A gear motor drives the valve motor. Stepping motor with SUT (Superior Universal Technology) electronic control unit and electronic load-dependant cut-off. The valve motor is delivered for 24 V AC/DC. The build-in spring return ensures a closing time of max. 4 sec. By temperatures higher than 130ºC, a cooling unit (1-0152285) is to be mounted between valve and motor. All gear wheels and bearings are lifetime lubricated. Maintenance-free gear unit made of sintered steel; gearbox base-plate made of steel. The spring return is released when the power disappears from the holding coil, closing the valve completely. A timer in the control box ensures that the motor is not turned on again before 10 sec. after a spring return release. This function protects against starting the motor before the spring return function has terminated. The control box contains: 230/24 V AC transformer for the valve motor 10 sec. timer for the spring return Potential free alarm switch Terminal blocks for connections to the valve motor, the dual Thermostat, other safety equipment, an alarm, and power Build-in fuse protecting against overload and short-circuiting The dual thermostat is set to the normal close-down temperature, e.g., 90ºC, where the valve is to be closed. It further includes an overheating thermostat for spring return emergency close-down at 105ºC. This ensures correct function, even if, e.g., the normal thermostat should fail. For additional safety, the overheating thermostat has to be reset manually after a break.
