Why Torque Wrench Calibration?

Torque wrenches are essential tools across numerous industries, including aviation, offshore, nuclear, process, and maritime sectors. To maintain production continuity and ensure safe operations, torque wrench calibration is critical—whether you’re using compact tools or heavy-duty wrenches up to 3150 Nm (2,323 lbf.ft). These tools must operate within tight tolerances to apply the correct force when tightening bolts or nuts. Accurate torque application prevents connection failures and ensures structural reliability.

Properly calibrated torque wrenches deliver precise torque values, allowing fasteners to be tightened to the correct specifications. Any significant deviation can lead to weakened or overstressed connections, increasing the risk of malfunction or failure.

All torque wrenches—whether digital, click-type, or hydraulic—should be calibrated at least once a year or after every 5,000 cycles, whichever comes first. This is in accordance with ISO 6789 standards, specifically ISO 6789-1:2017, which addresses production requirements, and ISO 6789-2:2017, which outlines the rules for calibration and certification. ISO allows a deviation of 4% to 6% from the indicated torque setting during testing. Anything beyond these limits is considered non-compliant.

To determine whether a torque wrench is out of calibration, specialized torque analyzers and sensors are required. At Vytl Controls Group, we specialize in torque wrench calibration ranging from 20 Nm to 3150 Nm, ensuring your tools meet international standards and keep your operations running safely and efficiently.

Why Torque Wrench Calibration?

Quality by Gedore

In early 2020, Vytl Controls Group expanded its torque wrench calibration capabilities by upgrading our calibration bench in collaboration with GEDORE. This partnership ensures that every torque wrench we calibrate is accompanied by a test certificate that aligns with international standards.

Thanks to the high-precision GEDORE calibration bench—offering accuracy within ±1% and ±1 digit of the readable value—we provide reliable calibration for both left- and right-turning torque wrenches. Our expertise covers a wide range of torque tools, including:

  • Digital Torque Wrenches
  • Hydraulic Torque Wrenches
  • Click Torque Wrenches
  • Electronic Torque Wrenches

With this advanced setup, we ensure each torque tool meets the strictest quality and compliance requirements for your industry.

Capable Newton Meter of Torque

  • 20 – 500Nm (14,8 – 369 lbf.ft)
  • 500 – 1.000Nm (369 – 737,6 lbf.ft)
  • 300 – 3.150Nm (221 – 2.323 lbf.ft)

Calibration According ISO 6789

At Vytl Controls Group, we calibrate and certify a wide range of torque wrenches—including digital, hydraulic, and other types—using some of the most advanced calibration equipment available today. In 2020, we enhanced our capabilities with the installation of a state-of-the-art GEDORE torque wrench calibration and certification bench. This investment ensures consistent, high-quality results after every calibration.

All our calibration and certification procedures are carried out in full compliance with ISO 6789 standards, providing you with the accuracy, reliability, and traceability required for critical torque applications.
