TW10 Thermowell
1650
Each thermowell is an essential component of any temperature measurement point. The WIKA TW10 thermowell is used to separate the process from the surrounding area, thus protecting the environment and operating personnel and keeps aggressive media, high pressures and flow rates from the temperature sensor itself and thereby enables the thermometer to be exchanged during operation. Based on the almost limitless application possibilities, there are a large number of variants, such as thermowell designs or materials. The type of process connection and the primary method of manufacture are critical design differentiation criteria. A necessary differentiation can be made between threaded and weld-in thermowells, and those with flange connections. Furthermore, one can differentiate between fabricated and solid-machined thermowells. Fabricated thermowells are constructed from a tube, that is closed at the tip by a welded solid tip. Solid-machined thermowells are manufactured from barstock. The WIKA TW10 series of solid-machined thermowells with flange connection are suitable for use with numerous electrical and mechanical thermometers from WIKA. Due to the heavy-duty design, these international design thermowells are the first choice for use the chemical and petrochemical industries and in plant construction. This thermowell can also be ordered with the innovative ScrutonWell® design. The added helical shape on the outside of the insert increases the thermowell's resistance to the Kármán vortex street and the stress this causes on the instrument by breaking the vortex up into smaller vortices. By incorporating the helix onto the outside of the thermowell, the Scrutonwell® design reduces oscillation by more than 90%!

TW22 Thermowell
3143
The WIKA TW22 thermowell is used to adapt thermometers and measuring inserts to the process and protects the sensor against harsh process conditions. The thermowell is mounted to a weld-in nozzle equipped with a respective hygienic connection and is built-in pipelines and tanks. Through the rotatable threaded connection, the connection head or display can be loosened and adjusted to the desired position. With a combination of a WIKA TR21-A or WIKA TR22-A resistance thermometer, the connection head is removable along with the measuring insert. This enables the thermometer to be calibrated along with the complete measuring chain, i.e. without disconnecting the electrical connections. In addition, this avoids having to open the process, and thus the risk of contamination is minimised.
